As if the original version of DARPA’s “Big Dog” was not big or bad…or terrifying enough, it seems as though they have decided to release their *new & improved* LS3.
For anyone thinking they might want to bail out of society and hide in the hills should shit ever hit the fan…well, this machine would make hiding anywhere damn near impossible.

Creepy. Looks like the Clone Wars machines from Star Wars
Yeah. I love what we can do with technology…I just hate how we choose to apply it sometimes. I definitely do NOT like this critter!
Where’s my lightsaber?
This is so utterly insane and appalling – so you kind of get stuck in abysmal awe…
As never before, it is imperative to try to fathom the “why” behind everything we see. What distorted Idea and misconception have given rise to such grotesque “expressions”?
What is the purpose behind all these stupid devices? We could probably answer – total control, manipulation, deprivation of freedom.
But behind this twisted comedy is Fear…isn´t it so…? It is Fear and the idea of Fear breeding monsters.
What is it used for?
Julien…incredible summary of the development of this technology and the feelings it invokes!!
Supposedly this uh…robo-critter… is only to be used for a pack-mule of sorts but I seriously question whether or not this is the best possible use of our tax dollars. Awhile back I read an article where the developers pointed out that it could be great for ‘tracking insurgents’ but like most everything else we have created I understand that while today’s ‘insurgent’ could well be a US citizen tomorrow. Fear? Indeed…knowing that the pentagon has this level of capability at their fingertips makes me very fearful sometimes. Will it cause me to go out and create something even more monstrous? HA! Never. It does give me pause though and forces me to re-evaluate the odds of ‘we the people’ ever being able to successfully toss off the police state forces that are rapidly taking over this world.
As for the light-saber? Well…maybe if you ask nicely…or put up enough money for lobbyists, DARPA would consider building you one!

Tis why I put the quotes around the word. I don’t agree with the current accepted definition which usually just means ‘whoever we want to justify killing today’.
