Oh my how I hate that people think that “authority” represents some sort of moral absolute, or that it means that they also have to agree, and abide by it.
Oh but we must abide, right? We’re taught that from the time we can walk and talk. We must follow the rules because the rule-makers say we must…follow the rules. We’re conditioned to submit to authority and popular opinion of ‘the way things are’.
I don’t like the ‘conditioning’ and acceptance of the idea that things just are the way they are…because that’s just the way things are. And I’m tired of watching so many people just going along with the program and living under the idea that we have a need to have other humans rule over us in every form and fashion. Screw that – things do not have to be this way…we have no reason to accept the way the world is being ruled over.
I’ve got MAJOR problems with the apostle Paul in the Bible – to me he seems a total hypocrite, and he’s THE GUY that “Christians” use to say, “we must follow the rules!.”
Paul had his head cut off by the Romans…clearly, he wasn’t following their rules :-/
